Welcome to the School Counseling
Purpose
The counseling program at Desertaire Elementary aligns closely with the Ysleta Independent School District’s Vision and Mission by ensuring that all students receive equitable support to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. In keeping with YISD’s vision to improve lives by eliminating opportunity gaps and providing a high-quality education that ignites confidence, creativity, and conceptual thinking, the counseling program focuses on creating a supportive environment where every student can thrive.
At Desertaire Elementary, the counseling program collaborates with students, families, teachers, and the community to uphold the district’s mission to work in partnership to produce successful learners. Through guidance lessons, individual planning, and responsive services, the counseling program empowers students to build resilience, set meaningful goals, and make responsible choices that prepare them to be college, career, and community ready.
Ultimately, the counseling program serves as a bridge between the district’s mission and each student’s personal growth, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed in every area of their development.
